What We Do

Sinclair & Company offers sustainability+investmentSM expertise to professionals in investment, and the business of investment. As architects of sustainability themed investment, we offer external perspective to internal development, benchmarking against best practice, and new ways of thinking about the challenges inherent in this space. We stimulate your best thinking and expertise, developing whitepapers on potential financing and investment ideas incorporating sustainability themes.

Sinclair & Company offers both individual project-based consulting, as well as on-going advisory services. We reduce complexities to clear trade-offs for integrating environmental, social and corporate governance [ESG] factors into investment management, models and messaging. We professionalize new investment approaches and interpret mainstream investment approaches to the evolving field of sustainability in investment strategies. Perhaps most importantly we offer an unbiased, independent view of players in the sustainability+investmentSM market, helping your firm to benchmark against global best practice in developed and developing countries, both mature and frontier capital markets.

Our role is to help investors decide what and how they may build in the sustainability theme to their investment approach. We aim to integrate ESG in a handful of strategic investment decisions to make a material impact on investment as usual.

Investors are increasingly recognizing that environmental, social and governance [ESG] issues are relevant and material, and need to be integrated into investment decision-making and ownership practices. There is also increasing demand from clients, stakeholders and beneficiaries for investors to address these issues in an appropriate and responsible manner.

We are not a traditional investment consultant. In fact, we offer investors an assessment on which investment consultant firms to consider hiring. But we will be a niche player for select, complex projects needing sustainability+investmentSM expertise capable of embedding into investment practice on either the buy or sell-side. We adopt a theme perspective, with regional coverage explicitly also covering emerging and frontier markets. Our offering includes consulting on how to choose amongst the many worthy international and regional initiatives like ICGN, EITI, PRI, CDP, EAI, IIGCC, INCR, and others.

Portfolio of Work  Minimize

Our work ranges from major multi-year investment product architectural re-builds to short-term high quality project management for immediate delivery to ongoing strategic advisory on scenario planning. Each situation is unique, only the skill-set we bring and the years of experience, remains constant. Our solutions are tailor-made solely for each engagement. We actively seek clients who have intellectually challenging or practically difficult investment architecture questions that require high quality work by a domain expert. We look forward to doing major or minor work that matters in moving organizations and investment more effective in the SM space.

Going forward, and only as our clients feel comfortable with us sharing their stories, we will offer seven recent case stories demonstrating our work, including:
